Asche Named All-Star MVP
Nebraska third baseman Cody Asche was honored as the Star of Stars at the 2010 Northwoods League All-Star Game Tuesday night in Eau Claire, Wis.
Three Former Huskers to Play in Triple-A Star Game
A trio of former Huskers will be in action tonight, as Steve Edlefsen, Alex Gordon and Dan Johnson are in Allentown Pa., for the Triple-A All-Star Game. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. (central) with live coverage on the MLB Network (Ch. 213 on DirecTV and Chs. 129 and 237 on Time Warner in Lincoln). Dan Johnson (Durham Bulls) will represent the International League, while Alex Gordon (Omaha Royals) and Steve Edlefsen (Fresno Grizzlies).
Asche Named Northwoods All-Star
Infielder Cody Asche enjoyed a Monday to remember, as he not only earned a spot in the Northwoods League All-Star game, but put together the best performance of the summer.
Four Huskers Named to California Collegiate League All-Star Game
It will be all-star Wednesday for a quartet for Nebraska baseball players selected for the California Collegiate League All-Star Game. Wednesday's game will be televised regionally on Fox Sports West (Ch. 652 on DirecTV; Ch. 417 on DISH Network) with airings across the nation on Fox Sports Net channels throughout the next month.
Erstad Named to Baseball Coaching Staff
One of the most decorated baseball players in program history returns to Nebraska in a new role, as Darin Erstad has been named an assistant coach for the Husker baseball team, Head Coach Mike Anderson announced Thursday. A two-time Major League All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner, Erstad will serve as the Huskers' hitting coach.
